STUDENT WORK

BRIANNE
Brianne"I have been looking for a while for classes on soldering and stone setting. But since I live on the little island of Kauai, there weren't many options for me here --- so I decided to expand my search area for classes.  I began looking on the internet, and came across the University of New Mexico.

That led me to Kristin's website.  I loved the pictures she had posted on her website, and knew that this would be a great person to learn from.
I learned so much from my classes with Kristin.  She showed me so many tips and techniques that are still proving to be useful, and she was very patient.  I was able to bring in my own shells and beach glass and set them into rings, bracelets and pendants.

If I could change one thing about my experience with Kristin, it would be more class time!  I learned so much in the short few weeks I was there, but I am sure I could learn a lot more from her. I had a really good time in my classes with Kristin and I learned so much. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who wants to learn about metalwork."

Professional Information: I work at a bead store on Kauai called Divine Planet (I started in 2007); this is my first and current job.  That's actually how I learned to make jewelry.  I took a wire wrapping class from them and fell in love.  Toward the end of 2010, I started my own jewelry business called Bri's By The Sea. I am currently selling my jewelry in a few different stores and spas around the island. I am hoping to one day make my jewelry business my full time job.
