2015 Ornament Magazine: February 2015, Volume 37, Number 5, Page 26: Review of Show, Protective Ornament: Contemporary Amulets to Armor, at the Tacoma Art Museum (WA) -- organized and first exhibited by the National Metal Museum in Memphis (TN).  Author: Robin Updike  "Another amulet maker is Kristin Diener, whose nearly foot-long brooch called Feminine Protection is a Victorian/ Gothic assemblage of sterling silver, antique glass frames, a dead bumble bee encased in a locket, grape seeds, and an artful arrangement of the back of a nude woman.  Diener's appealing pieces are filled with small bits of information that seem to be pointing towards narratives about women's lives, though it is unclear exactly how they offer protection."
